PLEASE VALUE LOCAL RESEARCH WORK,SOURCE LOCALLY BEFORE VENTURING ABROAD

CLOSE UP OF THE ROCK BREAKING BY BURNING TIRES.

The trip to Kigali by Moshi municipal Councillors and heads of departments intended to enlighten them on how best to improve on ways of keeping their municipal tidy which was blocked by the Kilimanjaro Regional Commissioner Mr Leonidas Gama a couple of months ago and which raised more questions than answers as far as municipal budgetary priorities are concerned need not have been conceived at all and maybe some faces could have been saved if  someone would have taken the trouble to just look around for local research outcomes on matters of the environment.
Environmental concerns are matters of much more gravitas than mere municipal tidiness or litter free streets, their deliberations transcend such petty activities as sweeping the streets and imposing spot fines for litterers. In such matters the whole ecosystem is considered, meaning human beings and all other living things including those that are not apparent to the eye as well as the interactions among each other and also including their surroundings. In such ways of observing things or systems the word pollution takes on a much much mature and wide reaching meaning. You may find yourself polluting the environment in a way that harms other living things such that the human eye or ear is unable to note, also the Moshi municipal council while touting itself as maintaining a very tidy town, the tidiest in Tanzania, disregards the fact that generator noise is a much much more serious pollution than pieces of paper on the streets in that it is a health hazard.
Whereas our leaders occupy themselves with the subject of environmental aesthetics and strive to travel far and wide, Kigali included, to seek relevant knowledge, our researchers have gone far ahead and are discussing the environment in its entirety and are placing such useful knowledge in written form for all to read but it appears its harder to seek for and read a local research paper than hop on a plane and go to Kigali.
The following two research papers discuss Noise pollution in Mwanza and Morogoro.

MOROGORO:Assesment of noise pollution due to portable fuel genarators.

MWANZA:Noise pollution in school environment in Mwanza city.
