AN INSTANCE OF ANIMAL SACRIFICES TODAY:

If its it is not clear from the images this is no ordinary slaughter of a sheep for food,it is a sacrificial slaughter to appease the dead,you can see a grave in some pictures.A son of the family has come back from Dar es salaam complaining of being unwell lately and his business is wavering.He had visited some hospitals but the conditions continue so he decided to come back home for an alternative solution.

The small green things held by one of the participants,the father of the young man in question,are pistils of the banana plant,they are placed in the mouth of the sheep and the mouth is held shut by force up to when it is slaughtered.The old man with the jug is spitting some liquor on the sheep's head while at the same time whispering the problems for which the small ceremony is held so that the sheep may carry on to the occupant of the grave as it dies.

Do not worry that the carcass has not undergone meat inspection,they say an animal slaughtered for purposes such as this is automatically safe from infections,the ritual cleans it!
