SCHOOL FEES IN A ‘BELOW-A-DOLLAR-A-DAY’ ECONOMY AND COURT SOMMONSES

What do you do if your family is proven to be surviving at the below a dollar a day rate and you kid’s school fees are due?,the fees themselves equalling the value of the only piece of land you own and live on as well as off it.
Well some parents here were shocked speech less when they received court summonses to appear and answer civil charges of NOT PAYING SCHOOL FEES, and a parallel word of mouth to the effect  that their sole properties, the land parcels, could be sold to recover the fees. This decision by the school and the village leaderships was reached without a school board as the school itself (Tumona secondary school) in Hai district is run without an active board, a board, seemingly, being unnecessary as the powers of the courts and other state organs, are readily at hand to intimidate the poverty stricken parents.

It is contrary to law to run a public secondary school without an active board

Consider this, let us allow that the family land is sold to cover this year’s outstanding fees, in a course of four years what would one sell to cover the remaining three?
